For years, Qryptal’s Secure Code system has focused on the classic black-on-white QR—the most reliable and widely compatible format for critical use cases. Today, we’re excited to take the next step with the launch of QR Profiles, giving you the power to combine security with brand expression.
🎨 What Are QR Profiles?
QR Profiles let you define and save named styles for your QR codes—making it easy to generate codes that reflect your brand’s identity while ensuring they remain secure and scannable.
A profile can include:
- Foreground and background colors (with RGBA support)
- A small logo or image in the center
- QR size
- Error correction level
These profiles are reusable across all Qryptal services—whether through API-driven workflows or manual generation. The functionality is already available to all our cloud customers, and will soon be rolled out to on-premise deployments via a software update.
Manage and organize all your QR Profiles in one place.
⚡ Simple and Powerful Interface
Creating a QR Profile is intuitive. Just name your profile, pick colors, upload your logo, and choose size and error correction.

You can even preview the code instantly before saving:

🚀 High-Performance at Scale
Behind the scenes, we’ve implemented a high-performance caching system for QR Profiles. This ensures that even with customization, QR generation stays secure, fast, and efficient.
🌟 Real-World Design Possibilities
With QR Profiles, you can go beyond black and white while still maintaining reliability:
Examples: Classic black-on-white, reverse, transparent, brand-colored, and logo-centered QRs.
✅ Best Practices for Readability
While design flexibility is exciting, here are some key guidelines to ensure scannability:
- Black on white with a small logo remains the most reliable choice
- For optimal visibility, use a PNG logo with transparent background and a defined outline
- Ensure strong contrast between foreground and background
- Keep logos small; for larger logos, increase QR size and error correction level
🔒 The Bottom Line
With QR Profiles, you don’t have to choose between security and brand identity. You can now deliver QRs that are both trusted and on-brand, tailored for your workflows and customers.
